WAPIS for Recorder 2002 - Standard Terms

Recorder 2000 uses standard lists of terms throughout and these can be added to by the user. To add terms to standard lists use the Term List utility available from the Tools menu.
Some of the list items or terms are system supplied and can not be edited or deleted.
For more details see the Recorder 2000 Help file.

WAPIS uses a number of standard term lists and these require agreement with the WAPIS user community.

The lists used are the following:

Location Fact Type:
Location Fact Types are similar in principle to Taxon facts and as such have by default the same list of 'Types': Text, Avi Movie, WAV Sound, images, etc.
The difference is that the user can add to this list using the term list utility. See a screen shot

Feature Event Type:
These provide a classification for types of event linked to a feature. Examples might be:
Management, Conservation, Routine Maintenance, Survey. See a screen shot

Threats:
In the standard Recorder 2000, threats to a feature are considered to be 'potential' and are given a Type. No standard types are given although in the help file there is a mix of types with temporal and causal components. WAPIS splits these into the standard threat type for causal and a new Threat Timing type for temporal. Suggested entries are given below. See a screen shot

Threat Types: Natural, Deliberate, Accidental
Threat Timing: Past, Current, Immediate, Short Term, Long Term
